| 摘要：MARC作为图书馆多年成熟、规范应用的元数据体系，为图书馆积累了不可估量的书目信息财富。但受限于体系设计的局限，MARC已不能适应数字图书馆时代的馆藏资源描述需求。本文对比分析了MARC与DC的异同和优劣，指出利用DC元数据及其相关方法论和扩展原则，特别是采用XML这种更具结构化的元数据编码标准，才是数字图书馆实现跨载体格式、跨资源类型的元数据描述整合的最佳方案。 |

| Abstract: As a widely-used, normative and mature metadata system being utilized in libraries, MARC accumulated substantial amount of bibliography data. But confined to its system design, MARC has become a mismatch for the descriptive demand of the library resources in the digital library era. The essay makes a contrastive analysis of MARC and DC, thus demonstrating the advantages and disadvantages of the two systems. It points out that making use of DC data and its relevant methodology and expansion principle, especially adopting XML -- the more structured metadata coding standard serves as the best solution for accomplishing the integration of inter-type and inter-format resources in digital libraries. |
