| Building on the established libraries and research col ections of its twenty-three constituent centers, the Council of American Overseas Research Centers (CAORC) in 1999 launched the Digital Library for International Research (DLIR). The DLIR is as a cost-effective, efficient, centralized, and Internet-based mechanism for the standardization and electronic delivery of important bibliographic and ful-text materials from al CAORC member centers. The paper provides an extended review on the construction and status of the digital library, including project background, resources organization, service features, technological structures, as wel as comments and suggestion made by the authors. |
