| Beginning with the historical background in that Mr. Zhang set up the discipline of information linguistics, this article discussed Mr. Zhang's advanced academic thinking of information language from the fol owing aspects:the nature of information retrieval language, the relationship between natural language and information retrieval language, automatic indexing and categorization. Nowadays, His creative theories about information retrieval language and leading research results are stil making great contribution to the development of library and information science in China. |
