| The Healthcare Reform Act in US is considered as the biggest ever welfare system modification in the country since 1960s. The health and pharmaceutical industry is considered as one of the most affected by the passed reform act. The new healthcare act contains many provisions that directly or indirectly apply to pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies. Generally speaking, they are the major winners from this healthcare reform. Although the main aim of this healthcare reform is to control the ever-rising medical cost and expand the medical insurance coverage for American citizens, considerations of boosting innovation was never ignored. |
