| On February 10, 2020, the US government announced its $4.83 trillion budget request for fiscal year 2021, which reflects the investment focus and policy direction of Trump government in the next fiscal year. The main features are: the expenditure on national defense continues to increase, the expenditure on non-national defense substantially decreases, the key investment is in artificial intelligence and quantum information science, and the investment in basic research field is reduced. On the whole, it aims to realize Trump’s commitment: rebuilding the military advantage of the US and maintaining the military hegemony of the US. At the same time, in order to ensure the competitiveness of the US industry in the future, it is necessary to focus on the investment in high-tech fields and ensure the leading position of the US in global science, technology and economy. |
