Geothermal energy technologies in the EU are relatively mature, however, their further R&D and innovation as well as technology application encounter both technology barriers and policy ones, for example, the cost of drilling is too high;its geothermal energy reserves cannot reach the expected output goals. The trends of R&D and innovation for geothermal energy technologies will be to make breakthrough in key areas of geothermal energy in the EU. This paper analyzes the R&D status, market prospect and development trends of geothermal energy technologies in the EU, hoping to provide beneficial clue and important references for the sustainable development of new energy technologies in China. |
